More like she`s playing the "I am black" card,,
Serena Williams may have a point - not so long ago, back in my misbegotten youth in the 1950s and 1960s, Serena Williams would not have been allowed to play at Wimbledon, for no other reason than that she is black.

I'm not making this up. I know because I was born here in London in 1941 and remember what it was like.

Thankfully I come from a family of Quakers, Methodists and Abolitionists.



It's there for all to see - I entirely support any accusation Serna Williams and other may say in respect of the problems at Wimbledon - only she can know, she is Black and I am not.

Methinks any time Ms. Williams (either No. 1, or No. 2) makes any sort of comments on 'prejudice' - they immediately vex the sulky and equally chippy caucasian dears; the populist British press, along with sports persons of old who momentarily ignore the squealing and grunting of the pretty and aural Eastern Europeans (with or without American accents), and let go a surreal growling of envy of their own, as the Williams sisters terrify the opposition once again.
As long as the Williams are playing at Wimbledon...and the older they get, they'll just have to get used to the fact that us lot would rather see all female players on the Centre Court looking more like Samantha Fox, rather than rear-whuppin' mammas '...straight outta Compton'.
I'm surprised they let either sister into the tournament. Not to play for the rest of the year and suddenly announce you only want to take part at Wimbledon is an insult to other players who have to buildserena williams and wimbledon 2011 up ranking points to get admitted. Maybe they should go through the qualifying stages!

Also the sooner they bring in anti-screeching rules the better!
Sorry but no matter what court they are on, if they are as good as they think they are then they will progress to the more prestigious courts.
Time to put their money where their mouth's are and prove they should be on the more prestigious courts by doing the business and winning and progressing.
Typical overhyped stars. Should put their egos to one side and prove themselves same as anyone else and not live of past glories.
All players should expect to play on outside courts during the tournament and take part in the whole event throughout the Wimbledon grounds.It might turn out to be a good experience;to get another angle and view of what will be a great memory.
Serena was a bit too quick to stand up for herself and hint of unfairness...saying it seemed odd that they were victimised.
Trying to insinuate that they were unfairly treated and accusing in tone.
It showed a lack of class to me.

When Serena and Venus played both their singles matches on CENTRE COURT today (27th June 2011) ...they lost in the 4th RD...in straight sets.

They are arrogant and ungrateful human beings.

As far as equal money goes I cannot disagree with your feelings but am ok with women being treated well and equally and made to feel equal and welcome in society as equals.... and just wish that was enough for all women.
If you had centre court tickets and you had a choice to see one of the Williams sisters or someone like Federer, Nadal or Murray play, who would you choose?

Whoever it is, I bet a majoriserena williams and wimbledon 2011ty would want to see the men play. Simple as that, no prejudice, just keeping the visitors happy.
She has been saying this for a couple of days.

I suppose the truth is more people want to see the top male players.

So if men are more popular they play on the courts that will keep more fans happy.

She might have a point if she is hinting at sexual discrimination but it is down to what the public want.
Both the sisters do very well at Wimbledon,they should go with the flow and allow the organising committee to get on with their job,the girls moaning could have a negative effect on their game and popularity,a bit of sense please,new balls.
so sick of this chick and her complaining about so called slights she perceives...problem is people dont like her because she is snotty, rude, and lacks humility..has nothing to do with her skin color. she needs to deal with the fact she not liked...please enough

I dont know anything about sport,but they seem to go to a lot of trouble these days to avoid these sort of things.
She's probably worried they will insist on a sex test and move those two "women" into the men's group where they belong...
